S.M. Novella Elisir di Rose
Typical of the nineteenth-century tradition, the Elixir of Roses is a liqueur with a rose syrup base: the one we use for our Elixir is produced on a small organic farm outside Florence. The rose we use was called ‘rosa dell’orto’ because it was planted around the borders of vegetable gardens, or it was known as ‘rosa maggese’ because it flowers only once a year, in May. It lends a pleasant scent to fruit salads, sorbets, ice cream, and tea, both hot and cold. Excellent as an aperitif served with chilled white wine, preferably dry, or with spumante or rum.
20% alcohol.
